Biography

Aliina Lindroos is a Finnish dancer, choreographer and performer. As a child her training consisted mostly of jazz, show, street and hip hop dance. She also trained in Vaganova method in Ståhlberg Academy of Ballet in Lahti, Finland in her teens. After finishing school in 2007 and moving to Dublin, she became more involved with contemporary dance and techniques such as Graham, Cunningham and Límon. Aliina did extensive training with CoisCéim Dance Theatre Creative Steps 2010-2014.

She completed her BA (Hons) in Drama and Music in University College Dublin in 2012. She was a founding member of UCD Dance as well as the group's head choreographer in fusion dance. In the first year of the group she taught ballet, modern dance and burlesque. In 2013 she graduated with MA in Theatre from Gaiety School of Acting/National University of Ireland.

While Aliina practises interdisciplinary performance, dance and physical theatre remain as her principal domains. She has worked for, collaborated and researched with international choreographers and companies such as Raimund Hoghe (Pina Bausch), Luca Silvestrini Protein Dance Company, Nic Green and John Scott (Irish Modern Dance Theatre), United Fall and Jeremy Wade among others. She has performed her own dance work in Ireland, UK and Germany. Her other projects such as Landing Collective has presented work in USA, Northern Ireland, Germany, Ireland, Greece and Finland.
